PEEVE #1  Illegal immigrants are allowed to embezzle from our country, $1,000 per bogus claimed kid.

Condensed from a story reported by Stephen Ohlemacher of the Associated Press:

• Foreign workers were allowed to claim $7,000,000,000.00 USD in child credits from 2004 - 2007.
• Foreign workers were allowed to claim child credits for children without providing social security numbers because a federal law does not require a social security number to receive the $1,000 tax credit.
• The feds gave legal and illegal immigrants tax identification numbers for tax filing purposes.
• Government report said, "As it now stands, the payment of federal funds through this tax benefit appears to provide an additional incentive for aliens to enter, reside and work in the U.S. without authorization, which contradicts federal law and policy to remove such incentives."
• The tax credit is issued even if the foreign worker did not make enough money to pay income tax.
• My peeve: Our government allows Illegal immigrants to claim undocumented children, whether these kids exist or not.  Children that the IRS can not verify as existing! Yet, they come down on legal U.S. Citizens, through audits, before recovering the misappropriated  $7,000,000,000.00 USD from these bogus claims! :(
